SINOTRUK collaborates with AkzoNobel to pursue a green future

AkzoNobel announced the first fully automatic powder coating production line designed and applied with SINOTRUK Qingdao Heavy Industry Co., Ltd is officially put into use. As the first powder coating production line of SINOTRUK, it marks a milestone in China’s environmental and green practice in the commercial vehicle field.

With China’s announcement of its “carbon peak and neutrality” targets, the development of China’s automotive industry is undergoing profound changes. As an important driving force for the automotive industry to help reduce carbon emissions, it is imperative for commercial vehicles to accelerate the low carbonization. Through the cooperation with SINOTRUK, AkzoNobel provides Interpon ACE powder coatings to SINOTRUK Qingdao Heavy Industry Co., Ltd and coats more than 4,000 special vehicles every year; meanwhile, AkzoNobel also assisted in the design of the whole production line to facilitate an efficient green production line.

The technical leader from SINOTRUK Qingdao Heavy Industry Co., Ltd said they are glad to be able to cooperate with AkzoNobel on this project, which realizes SINOTRUK’s zero breakthrough in the common line powder coating industry for mixer trucks, dump trucks and sanitation trucks, and also lays a solid foundation for further cooperation between the two parties.

As a response to China’s “carbon peak and neutrality” targets, SINOTRUK has been striving to fulfill its commitment to green manufacturing and sustainable development and launched recently a new lighter-weight and intelligent concrete mixer. AkzoNobel’s Interpon ACE powder coatings for construction machinery have excellent anti-corrosion, chemical resistance, aging resistance and mechanical properties to meet the needs of this type of vehicles. Meanwhile, it can help the production line reduce production waste, waste water and VOC emissions, making the painting process more efficient and low-carbon.
